Enquiries
If you use the contact form we collect the details you type in: your name, email address, phone number if you give one, the kind of enquiry, tour, date, number of guests, and your message. We email that message to our business inbox and send you a short reply so you know we received it. We do not keep a copy of the form in our own database.
Bookings through Rezdy
Tours are booked in a Rezdy form on this website. Rezdy collects what you enter to book and pay, including your name, email address, phone number, booking details, and safety waiver details. Rezdy takes the payment. We do not see or store your card number.
After you book, you receive a safety waiver by email. Every rider and passenger needs to complete it before the ride. We do not keep a copy of your waiver answers on this website.
When Rezdy tells us a booking is confirmed, we store the details we need to email you about the ride: your email address, first name, tour name, product code, start time, and the meeting place if Rezdy includes one. We store those in Upstash Redis. We do not copy your phone number into that store. If a booking is cancelled, we delete it. We also delete a confirmed booking from this store a week after the ride date. Rezdy keeps its own booking record. How long Rezdy keeps it is covered by Rezdy’s privacy policy.
Ride and review emails
For a confirmed booking we may email you:
- a reminder on the day before the ride, from 7am New Zealand time
- a one-off review request on the day after the ride, with a link to leave a Tripadvisor review, and a Google review link when we have one
Those emails are sent with Resend. Each one has an unsubscribe link. You can also email info@wanakatriketours.nz and ask us to stop. If you unsubscribe, we store your email address so we do not send those emails again. We keep that address until you ask us to remove it.
Opening a Tripadvisor or Google review link takes you to that site. They have their own privacy policies. We do not receive the text of your review through this website.
Email mailboxes
We read and reply to email in Google Workspace. The address is info@wanakatriketours.nz. bookings@wanakatriketours.nz and rich@wanakatriketours.nz are aliases of that mailbox. Contact-form messages and replies to guest emails arrive there. We have not set an automatic delete date for mail in that mailbox.
Who else handles information
- Rezdy, for bookings, payment, and waiver details collected in the booking form.
- Resend, to send enquiry replies, ride reminders, and review emails.
- Upstash Redis, to store confirmed-booking details and unsubscribe addresses.
- Google Workspace, for our mailboxes.
- Vercel, which hosts this website.
We don’t sell your personal information. Some of these services may store information outside New Zealand. Their own privacy policies describe where.
Analytics
We use privacy-friendly Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights to understand how the site is used. They don’t use cookies to track you across other websites.
Pages that load other sites
Some pages include content from Instagram, Tripadvisor, Google Maps, WhatsApp, and the Rezdy booking form. Those services have their own privacy policies.
Access, correction, and deletion
You can ask to see, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. Email info@wanakatriketours.nz and tell us what you want. We will correct or delete the booking and unsubscribe records we hold. Rezdy, Resend, and Google also hold copies related to your booking or emails. Say if you want those removed as well and we will pass the request on. We can’t promise their timing.
